Drawings on black paper

I worked on these small drawings yesterday and I'm pretty happy with them. It is refreshing to work on the black paper. The ink is a very subtle silver color on black cardstock.

Small vertical drawings

I've been working on so many large, time consuming projects lately that I haven't sat down with my micron pens and just let myself draw. So it felt good to do these quick, effortless drawings. I like the narrow, vertical format and want to explore it more on a larger scale.

These are available for purchase in my shop.

Images from a sunset walk with this guy.

A very old train...

We were driving back from our storage space where the majority of our studio and home is packed right now when we saw an old, rusting train between two warehouses. These are some of my favorite photos from our deserted train excursion. Also, did you know Buffalo Bill was born in Iowa?

Just finished up a set of 20 prints. It was good to work on these. I digitally printed an original drawing (the bit you see drawn in black ink in the above photos) then I used colored microns to add an original drawing to each print. It was a nice experiment- even though the majority of each prints image is the same they all feel very different. The interaction between the two images is what feels most interesting to me, a dissonance of some sort.
